By admin at Thu, 07/17/2008 - 15:56 | Press Release FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE “WINE AND CHOCOLATES WITH CONSCIENCE” FUNDRAISER JULY 31ST Benefits Democratic Congressional Candidate Bruce Slater RONKS, PA-The Wenger Gallery, 2811 Lincoln Highway East, Ronks, is will host an evening of conversation featuring good wines and delectable chocolates for the benefit of the Democratic candidate for the 16th Congressional District, Bruce Slater on Thursday, July 31st, from 6:30 to 9:00 pm. Wenger Gallery opened its doors in 1987 as Double Heart Country Art. These “Double Hearts” were Shirley Wenger and Amish Artist Susie Riehl. Beginning in the garage of the Wenger home, Rieh's art was marketed locally in Lancaster County. As demand grew for her works, so did the need to expand. A storefront was soon opened in the village of Intercourse and a custom framing department was added to the ever-expanding gallery. In 1995, the gallery relocated to the Ronks site and began to offer the works of other local and national artists. Chocolates will be supplied by Selena Mann, of Café Chocolate in Lititz. They are made “with a conscience”-without sugar, milk, or glutens, and support small chocolate growers around the world. Ms. Mann has lived and studied around the globe, and will share her expertise as she pairs both sweet and savory chocolate dishes with complementary wine selections, each expanding the flavor of the other. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 717-569-6605, emailing events@slaterforcongress.com, or online at the Slater for Congress campaign website, www.slaterforcongress.com. A donation of $50.00 per person is requested. |
